CAPTURE professors and supporting staff are involved in the organisation of summer schools, workshops and other training events for PhD students and postdocs.
SuPER-W is a "European Joint Doctorate" programme for highly motivated young scientists, combining state-of-the-art research with a comprehensive joint training programme on Resource, Product and Energy Recovery from Wastewater with a strong collaboration between academic and private partners. This doctoral training programme focuses explicitly on resource efficiency and sustainability, active involvement of the non-academic sector, training in complementary skills, including entrepreneurship and translation of research into policy, international as well as cross-organisational and intersectoral mobility, dissemination, awareness raising, and public outreach, and involvement of multiple disciplines, themes, tools and techniques.
C-PlaNeT (Circular Plastics Network for Training) is a European Joint Doctorate training project that will start in 2020. It brings together 15 international young PhD researchers working on the circular economy for plastics. C-PlaNeT takes a holistic and interdisciplinary approach and brings together chemical engineers, environmental engineers, polymer chemists, political scientists, economists, product designers and LCA-experts. The training programme focuses on specialist courses, transferable skills and dissemination and will ensure close interactions with industry and policy makers.
TRANSFERSKILLS 2019 (www.transferskills.be) is a two-week summer school organised at Ghent University (Belgium) from July 8 to 19, 2019, offering a toolbox of transferrable skills that determine HOW you do the job, as opposed to technical skills, determining WHAT you do.
TRANSFERSKILLS 2019 offers training in teamwork and motivation, meeting skills, presentation and (popular) writing skills, relational behaviour, conflict handling, cross-cultural intelligence, project management, job-seeking, CV writing and interviewing skills, research ethics, etc. The training modules will allow you to do more in less time and create a healthy and pleasant workplace environment. Usable throughout your professional life, these skills will really make a difference, also on your CV when looking for a job.
The training modules are elective, so you can choose what you value most. They are complemented by social activities organised for the whole group.

CAPTURE aims at creating an entrepreneurial mindset among its researchers and wants to stimulate them to start their own innovative business. Therefore CAPTURE will, in collaboration with the Ghent University Tech Transfer Office, train researchers in the basics of entrepreneurship. A first edition took place between March and May 2018. Five groups of PhD students and postdocs were guided through the process of setting up an own business, based on their research. The course consisted of group sessions, individual coaching sessions and guest speakers. The event ended with a pitching session at VOKA Gent. The aim is to organize a next edition of the course in the course of 2019-2020.
